Entombment

Mortal life of substance,
And ethereal,
As the matter of soul,
You are far spent,
In this night of human life,
That passes in a blink
Of the eye of God.

I have pulled you,
Limb from limb,
Not as the Savior’s travail
Upon the Cross,
But by sinning,
Brought death to my members.

I am dislocated,
In body and Time,
Knowing neither peace,
Nor the plenty
Of sweet communion,

The passages of Death
And the Lies,
Rising from the Pit,
And told to Man,
Threaten the life
Of God in me,

You, O mind and body,
Have been taken prisoner,
By the gods
I chose to serve.

Mercy speaks
Light to my darkness
And Grace
To my repentant will,
Love never ceases
Watching and waiting.

Mercy, I call to You,
You, Who call me forth,
And deliver me.
I turn my thoughts and pray
To the Fount of my being.

As a babe,
I return,
And from New Womb,
By faith believing,
I choose rebirth,
And am reborn.

My grave is a baptism
That reconnects my spirit
To my God..
Breath, bones and sinews
Sing a new song
Born of my Savior’s Grave.

Flower in the Sun @Poetry #Christian Poetry

Make me as a flower in sun and rain.
May I, as by nature, turn to follow You
In Your course throughout my life.
Let Your holy, healing waters penetrate my being,
As roots planted securely in Your Providential soil,
Drink of Your constant streams.
As it is Your nature to water and supply,
May I by Rebirth,
Unfurl my gowns to Solomon’s delight.

Fleeting prayers

Known but to God

Recorded in His Heart.

Nothing wasted,

all in flower,

bearing fruit,

supplying for the need

of His Church.

throughout Time,

Nothing wasted,

nothing forgotten,

all in flower,

all bearing fruit.

Upon the Vine

How sweet the fruit upon the vine,
Coming to be
Because of Thee.

Made to be food
With a touch of delight,
Feeding body and inviting the soul,
Born of a thousand labors,
Yet dependent on Thee,
You, Giver of sun, earth and seed,
Asking of Man (me),
To but work the Plan.
Then, weathered and together,
Life grows on tree
And takes root in me,
Gratitude tastes the gift,
And speaks my thanksgiving unto Thee.

Fishers of Men

O, Lord, what’s it all about,
This “blogging?”
Feeds, links, posts and pings,
So much to learn,
Much more to do.

A world within a world,
A web of letters, syllables, and words,
And people pinging people,
For seeing, or not seeing,
Things just as they do.

Why me? Why a blogosphere?
It won’t make me famous.
It surely won’t make me money.
It won’t even make me friends.

Maybe the Lord is saying:
“Jump in, My friend!”
“That’s were the fish are swimming.”
Fishers of men must use the Net.
