Although, I have been resting
In Your Most Sacred Heart,
Safe in Your holy embrace
Throughout this night,
You has been waiting for this moment,
When my eyes open,
Hoping I would look at You,
And return Your loving glance.

Very beautiful. Although God does not need us, when we turn away from Him while His heart desires us, does He not suffer a painful lack because we deny Him His heart’s desire to possess our heart? This thought came to me when reading “Lifted Up, I Am Drawn” and then this poem.

Thank you, Barb. We really cannot comprehend our Lord’s love and desire for our poor hearts, nor how beautiful He wants to render them in His.
