Reporters Mock State Dept for Downplaying Benghazi Terrorists Link to Al Qaeda | Pamela Geller, Atlas Shrugs.

They are merely mouthpieces for Obama — the media should be mocking their messiah, Obama.

Perhaps the State department can’t admit the truth because it flies in the face of Obama’s absurd declaration that “al Qaeda is on the run.”

The thing is — it’s not funny. Obama’s pro-jihadist foreign policy is responsible for the victories and conquest of jihadist groups worldwide. The world is vastly different since he took power after 2008. For the worse … much worse.

Imagine, Obama is more pro-Islamic on the Libyan jihad than even the UN, which has designated Ansar al Sharia an al Qaeda terror group.

Reporters poked fun at State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke on Friday as he tried to elaborate on the Obama administrations stance on the recent UN report linking Ansar al-Sharia to Al Qaeda.

“These groups are associated with Al Qaeda in Maghreb,” Rathke said, “but they are not arms of core Al Qaeda.

Ansar al-Sharia is said to be responsible for the 2012 Benghazi attacks on the U.S. consulate in which four Americans were killed.

Reporters gave Rathke some terms that they deemed more fitting, including, “Al Qaeda light”, “the jayvee team”, and a subsidiary of McDonald’s.

Oxford Affraid You Might Agree With This Message

“This is the text of a speech that was due to be given at Christ Church college yesterday. The speech was not delivered following protests by the Oxford University Student Union Women’s Campaign.

I’m not here tonight to debate whether or not abortion should be legal – so if anyone wants to ask what should be done about abortion in cases of incest or rape please don’t waste your time. Most people accept that abortion is in certain circumstances a tragic necessity and is here to stay. No, I’m here to debate this specific motion – whether or not the abortion culture harms Britain.

I define the abortion culture as a culture in which abortion is used so often that it begins to look like it’s being treated as a regular form of contraception (which the numbers suggest) and in which there is a widespread view that it is a right, carries no risks and in fact represents some kind of liberation for the women for whom it is available. In an abortion culture, it would be controversial to near-impossible to debate the this of terminating a pregnancy – and the attempts to close down this reasonable discussion suggestions that such a culture exists.

But I think that the abortion culture actually makes certain injustices in our society worse. And anyone who truly cares about the freedom and rights of women – and that is all of us – has to be prepared to look again at the evidence of what abortion on demand does to us. And how silence on its effects harms certain minority groups.

Teens who Smoke Cannabis Daily ‘Seven Times More Likely to Commit Suicide’

“Modern day slavery in Britain is being fueled by cannabis farms

The study found a connection between a considerable use of marijuana and high risk of suicide as well as poor educational outcomes(Reuters)

Teenagers who start smoking cannabis daily before the age of 17 are seven times more likely to commit suicide, a study has found.

According to the paper, published in the Lancet Psychiatry journal, youths who smoke marijuana on a daily basis are also 60% less likely to finish high school.

Researchers led by the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre at the University of New South Wales analysed results of three large, long-running studies from Australia and New Zealand involving nearly 3,800 people.

They examined the connections between the frequency of cannabis use before age 17 – ranging from never to daily – and seven developmental outcomes assessed up to age 30, including frequency of suicide attempts, high-school completion and attainment of university degree by age 25.

“We assessed seven outcomes in young people aged between 17 and 30 years, spanning educational attainment, substance use, mental health, and welfare dependence,” the paper said.

“The number of participants varied by outcome (from 2,537 to 3,765 participants). We chose the outcomes on the basis of previous research that established a link between a given outcome and cannabis use.”

“Although the effects were greatest for the daily users, there were also notable effects at the lower frequencies of cannabis use as well”

The findings showed a link between a considerable use of cannabis and a high risk of suicide as well as poor educational outcomes.

Researchers also found that teenagers who use cannabis very often are at an eight times greater risk of using other illegal drugs in their twenties, and they can also develop an addiction to marijuana.

“What we found is that although the effects were greatest for the daily users, there were also notable effects at the lower frequencies of cannabis use as well,” said study lead author Edmund Silins.

“The findings are timely given movement in some states in the US and Latin America to decriminalise marijuana, and there is also a movement there in Australia to decriminalise and legalise the drug for medicinal use,” he continued.

“Because our study has shown the potential harms of adolescent use, particularly heavy use, policy makers must be aware of this and reform efforts should be carefully considered to protect against this.

“We can’t say what would happen if people were able to access the drug for medical use but I would say those products would have to be heavily tested and regulated to ensure it didn’t make it easier for teenagers to access the drug.”

The Peace that Passes Understanding

“If this day you only knew what makes for peace. ” Is this not our problem today? So many tortured ways of seeking “peace”, and so many variant images of “peace”.

When “Mir”, “Peace”, is proclaimed by the Communists, it lacks a God Who can bring it. It means the imposition of might over the many who have been forced into submission and now can only dream of “peace”.

When the Buddha chants for peace, its coming dissolves the entities of its devotees into a universal soup of nothingness, doing nothing, loving nothing distinct or individual.

When the progress secular relativist of our day speaks of “peace”, it is an end brought about by the silencing of conscience and even science to impose the law of those that lack a way of recognizing integrity, morality, and Truth.

“Last night, the American people rebelled against the President’s executive amnesty and rallied behind GOP candidates who promised to put the needs of the American people first. It is shocking then that the President would declare that the only way ‘those executive actions go away,’ is to ‘send me a bill that I can sign.’ Otherwise, the President warned, he would ‘act in the absence of action by Congress.’

Of course, Congress has acted, and so have the American people. Republicans, and the voters who sent us here, rejected the Obama-Democrat legislation to give work permits to illegal immigrants and to surge already-record immigration rates. The President cannot, having had his policies defeated at the ballot box, impose them through executive decree.

A Republican Congress will defend itself and our citizens from these lawless actions. Surrendering to illegality is not an option. Democrats will have to choose sides: protect the President’s agenda, or protect your constituents.

Americans do not want their borders erased. What they have asked for is an agenda that promotes higher wages, reforms government, eliminates failed programs, balances the budget, increases energy production, and protects their sovereignty.”
