Sweet Cause

The world of men is full of accusers,
Innocent as doves in their own eyes.
Only the sinner finds a place at Your table,
Garbed, no longer in rotting rags,
But in wedding dress and festive best.

The lowly come
And are welcomed.
Choosing a place at Your feet
You invite “Come up higher”.
At Your breast the disciple rests.

Hearts make merry,
While the wine of wisdom
Turns sorrow into joy,
Allowing the cross no less,
Sweet cause of happiness.

Humble Flowers

Desire

How may I bring delight,

How may I gladden Thee?

Make me as music,
Playing unto my God,
In the silence of Thy Tomb.

Make me as roses,
Placed upon Thy pierced Breast,
As death silenced Thy heart.

Make me as lilies,
Opening in the Light,
Of Thy Resurrection glory.

Make me as bread in Thy Sacred Hands,
Becoming Thy Body,
To satisfy Thy hunger for souls.

Make me as wine in a chalice,
Becoming Thy Blood,
To quench Thy thirst for those in sin.

Make me as a Banquet,
Calling the hungry,
To Thy Table in repentance.

Make me as a river,
Flowing from Thy wounded Heart,
Joining Thy streams of Mercy.

Gather my desires to please Thee,
As flowers plaited as a crown,
To set upon the head of my Beloved.

God Can Make It from Nothing

God can make it from nothing.
No Time, no Space, no place!
With a Word, Time,Space, place
All suns are born in His Light.

Beauty of the One Supreme Being,
Arrayed in all that is,
Himself, ethereal, everywhere and near,
Is, itself.

Living, thinking, Eternal Being,
Unseen, untouchable,
Existing forever and always,
Limitless, within and without.

Ocean of omnipotence,
Alive in Your Living,
Living in minuscule, and mighty,
Nothing without you.

Existence,
Beyond all that is.
Worlds exists without me,
But not without You.

I am called,
As You called Creation into being.
The sticks and stones of creation,
Obey Your every whim and command.

Man, alone, can say “NO”.
Place “YES” in my heart,
That I may not thwart,
But with creation play my part.

All that is,
Is of Thee,
Infinite in all Your Perfections.
My Loving Mystery.

God, You can make it from nothing,
Make of me a Son,
A light after the long Night,
Knowing in loving eternal delight.

Purity of Heart

There is only one heart so pure,
As to remain demure,
One life lived in blessed union
With Your Own.
One so holy
As to share Your throne.

Solomon, in His wisdom
A type of Christ,
Rose from his kingly chair
To seat his mother
By his side,
Thereby made clear
Her stature in his sight,
Made queenly and motherly ruling
Her right.

Queen Mother, most pure and holy,
By the Father ‘s will made New Eve
To the New Adam, His Son,
You, Spouse of God,
Of flesh and blood,
Share in the rule
Of David’s Promised House.

When courted by the Holy Spirit,
Your “Fiat”,
Made you One,
To bring forth
Holy Son.
