Memories Eternal – a Prayer

May I live with Mary in my heart this day.
May her thoughts,
And precious memories of You, dear Jesus,
Resound in my mind and fill my soul,
That even Angels in flight,
And the Triumphant in Heaven,
Stop to listen and love with me.
Amen

How Do You Heal Me?

My Jesus,
Here I am,
Hanging beside you,
Like the good thief,
Conscious of my fault and failure,
Yet, all the more,
Conscious of You.

I have only to behold You,
To see You on Your Cross,
In Your dying,
To know all has changed.

Seeing You,
I let down my guard.
I am naked and defenseless,
Like Adam in the garden.
Now, though, there is a difference.

I can not run.
I can not hide,
But neither do I want to.

This time I, truly, see You.

I see You in Your pain,
In Your misery,
In Your dying agony.
I see You.

I see You beholding me.
You take me in, in a glance.
You comfort me with Your gaze,
And let me see, in You, my only hope.

Your dying makes a difference.
I find the difference in me.

You look at me,
And I see in Your eyes,
Suffering Love,
Mercy, Incarnate.

Your gaze takes me in,
And I find myself within You,
In Your merciful heart.

How do You heal me?
With a look?
With a plea?
With Your pain?

Is it that You take me,
With your gaze,
Into the Heart of You.

I am one with the Only One
One with God,
Here on the Your Cross,
Here in Your knowing,
Here in Your most Sacred Heart.

Refuge of Sinners

Refuge of Sinners

I sit in the sunshine of Your New Day.
Forgiveness has washed over me.
At Your Word,
Mercy has rained upon Your Beloved.

Hear now, You say to me:
You are safe, My little one.
You have chosen to hide yourself
In the Wound of My Sacred Heart.

The world about is cold and unholy,
Yet you are surrounded by angels of Light.
Warm and welcoming is the Living Flesh
That is your constant refuge.

I enfold you,
As you have  made My Body,
Your Food, Your Heart,
My own.

The Banquet

You who eat to gladden your gut,
You who indulge to comfort the flesh,
Come to a true banquet!

Rejoice your spirit,
Give joy to your soul.
Fatten your prayer on faith.

Let words ravish the Heart of God.
Even words unspoken, but burning in your heart,
Call angels to your side.

Quiet the world, by stepping apart,
Still your flesh in earnest fast,
Widen the breath of your praise.

The majesty of God inclines to your lips.
For it is He, Who has promised.
Whisper and He smiles.
