Gathering Flowers

As a child,
Gathering flowers in a meadow,
I spend these hours
By your side, dear Mother.

Happily, you kiss each bloom,
I offer, playfully, to your lips.
Bunching them as a bouquet,
I press them into your hands,
And you, as mother’s do,
Press them to your heart.

Mary, the Violin

Mary, Virgin, Mother of God,
The perfectly fashioned,
And tuned instrument,
A violin,
In the hands of God,
As He plays His music
For the Son.

A biblical look at the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

St. Bernadette

On December 8th 1933, Pope Pius XI declared Bernadette Soubirous a Saint of the Catholic Church, her feast day was fixed for February 18th, the day her Lady promised to make her happy, not in this life, but in the next. However, she was also given two more feast days, April 16 – the day of her death & February 11 – the day her Lady stepped from Heaven into her heart (the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes).

Virgin Mary Consoles Eve

H/T Artist – Sr. Grace Remington, OCSO

This painting is so consoling, I just have to share it again since Advent brings us closer and closer to the precious moment of our Savior’s birth.  He comes to save Fallen Man, and with such a gentle hand.

*Notice the feet in this painting.
