Listening to You, O GodI am listening, O God,
I am listening. As my ear rests upon Your Breast,
The throbbing of Your Heart, a plaintiff call,
Sounds a sacred prayer
In unending rhythm, eternal.Though stopped
In Your willed bodily Death,
It’s steady beat pierced the earth,
As Your Spirit descended to captivate
Those justified by Your Blood,
The prize of Salvation won upon Calvary’s mount.High ridged mountains of prayer
Span the course of centuries,
As I now in my ordained place,
Offer my will to You in this my time.As that same once spent Blood,
Now courses through my veins
In sweet Communion,
Speak peace to me.© 2011 Joann Nelander

Hand in Hand on Pilgrimage
Hand in hand on pilgrimage,
Joy and tears are caught up
And carried aloft,
On the wings of angels,
And placed in the brazier
Before the throne of God,
With our hearts prostrate,
And spirits pleading,
For that final awakening
Of which the Saints speak,
And the Church,
In union with Her Bridegroom,
Proclaims through the long Ages,
Leading all to Final Rest.
Come, Christ, Savior,
Come, Happiness of All Souls and Saints,
Come, my Jesus, O Journeys’ End.

Soulful Recall
My Lord, my God, my All,
Give me a heart for You,
Give me the heart
Of a child,
Your child.
Create me anew,
For I wander
Far from You,
You, Who woos me constantly,
You, Who wants me eternally.
Each day, upon day,
Challenges me to hold on,
Hold on to Faith.
Hold on to Hope.
Hold on to You,
You, Who are Love.
Though You are constant,
I am inconstant.
Searching my moments,
In soulful recall,
I see my tempters three,
Worldly, fleshly and demonic.
They, too, hunger for me,
But where You
Would take me to Yourself,
And make me Like,
And of Yourself,
They would devour me,
Chew upon me,
Suck out the juice,
And spit me out.
Give me the time.
Give me the inclination,
For I live in a world
Of voices,
And distractions.
They whisper in my ears,
Shout, and demand allegiance,
Calling me to come away,
To go astray,
To worship at strange altars.
In Your Light
I see my way.
In Your Light
The way to You
Shines as a highway,
Luminescent in the night.
My Lord, my God, my All,
Fight for me.
Fight them all.

Refuge of Sinners
Refuge of Sinners
I sit in the sunshine of Your New Day.
Forgiveness has washed over me.
At Your Word,
Mercy has rained upon Your Beloved.
Hear now, You say to me:
You are safe, My little one.
You have chosen to hide yourself
In the Wound of My Sacred Heart.
The world about is cold and unholy,
Yet you are surrounded by angels of Light.
Warm and welcoming is the Living Flesh
That is your constant refuge.
I enfold you,
As you have made My Body,
Your Food, your Heart,
Your own.

A Thousand Thousand Trumpets
A thousand thousand trumpets mark Your path.
The lips of angels tremble and anticipate
As hour fast approaches,
For Gabriel’s stormy blast
Ushering the Age’s end,
When on the clouds You will descend,
To come again as way You went .
Sun of Justice with Spirit Sword,
Your Word, to cut
Between the marrow and the bone,
All that stands the test of Fire,
You gather home.
Refuse and stubble
Immolated in furnace heat,
As passing in Your hallowedness
You devour all that is not meet.
The trumpets’ blare gives way
To music of celestial harps,
And Miriam song sounded strong.
As the martyrs chime,
Finally coming forth from beneath the Altar,
To sing their tune and time.
Holy chorus, at long last,
To celebrate and sing
Triumphant Alleluias
For Salvation’s Mercy King.

As for me, I am a wife,a mother of two beautiful daughters, a Sinai nurse (NYC – 1962), a photographer, a writer /poet (in awe of God). Prayer and daily Mass feed me. Lioness is my way of evangelizing, a persistent shout out for God.
My Posts for the past week:
Garden of The Lord
Holy See
Jesus, Haven of My Heart
Fully Human, Fully Alive! A Prayer
Question of the week:
Do you have any suggestions regarding the Rosary?
I have a heart for the Rosary but not always a head. I have to try pray away distractions but I know the effort but adds to the power and my sacrifice of time, effort, will and love.. This is my weapon, second to the Eucharist. I’m not even good at fingering the beads..I lose track, but muddle on. It calls for faith (surprise) and for me to remember my Mother asks for me to say it and promises what only heaven can give.
