Rabbi Marvin Hier, the founder and Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, has called on President Obama to “name, apologize for, and repudiate” the anonymous official quoted in an Atlantic Magazine article describing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “chickenshit,” The Algemeiner reports.
In a telephone call with The Algemeiner from his Los Angeles office, an incensed Rabbi Hier declared: “It is rather ironic that a senior American official is prepared to curse his friends, yet when it comes to the mortal enemies of the United States — as the Iranians discovered during the recent nuclear negotiation — praise is heaped on them.”
Jeffrey Goldberg’s piece in The Atlantic extensively quoted an anonymous “senior Obama administration official” who showered Netanyahu with invective, saying, “The thing about Bibi is, he’s a chickenshit.”
Goldberg then observed: “Over the years, Obama administration officials have described Netanyahu to me as recalcitrant, myopic, reactionary, obtuse, blustering, pompous, and ‘Aspergery.’ (These are verbatim descriptions; I keep a running list.)”
Ed Morrissey’s exclusive interview today with Commander David Rehbein of the American Legion after Janet Napolitano fills out an previous attempt at an apology to the American Legion for the DHS report that dissed veterans linking them to Timothy McVeigh and potential homegrown terror attacks without an ounce of statistical proof. (Actually statistics proved just the opposite of the reports implications.):Vodpod videos no longer available.
Michell Malkin adds that Ja-No is scheduled to testify about DHS immigration enforcement policies (or rather, the lack thereof) on May 6.
We are no longer fighting the real enemy, TERRORISM. The present administration is vilifying those who serve our country with its new hit piece- the DHS document Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment
“The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of
military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.”
Ed Morrissey reports: American Legion to Napolitano: Apologize
Of all the smears listed in the new DHS warning about “right-wing extremism,” none are more dastardly and despicable than the insinuation that returning military veterans represent a security threat to the nation they willingly served. The Commander of the American Legion has sent the following letter to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano explaining to her that military veterans are not the enemy
The Huffington Post retraction:
“We regret the error and apologize to Mr. Gibson. John Gibson never compared Eric Holder to a monkey with a bright blue scrotum.” .
In their apology and retraction, they say that a video it posted had been doctored; source unknown. The hoax had Trace Gallagher’s voice saying “bright blue scrotum” where “nation of cowards”, a remark by Holder, belonged.
Great journalism, Guys!
