Jesus of the Cross

Jesus of the Cross,
Jesus of the Suffering,
Jesus of the Dying,
Hanging from Your Cross
Before our eyes,
Hanging in Your Suffering,
Bleeding out Your Love,
Hanging in Your Dying
Above the world,
First Born Son
And New Beginning,
Birthing in the hearts
Of the Children of Man,
Children for God.

I Live By the Will of God

Today, I live by Your Will.
Today, I live by Your Cross.
Today, I live by the grace of God.

I call on all heaven
To pray for me,
As I am weak,
And prone to sin.

With Isaiah, I promise God,
That I will not be silent,
I will cry out
For the sake of Jerusalem.

You saints of God
I station you on my walls
And at the city gate.

Do not cease
To petition the King,
For He is poised
To answer the persistent.

My Will and Testament – a Prayer

O my Lord, God Almighty,
Rule on the throne of my life.

Set right,
Set straight,
Set at peace,
Subjugate all within my sphere.

All that I have,
All that I desire,
All that I am,
I will to You.

The Art of Growing Up – My Lent

Matt27_29_JesusFallBeneathTheCross

“If you spot it, you got it!”

It’s common for folks to notice the faults of others, perhaps missing these very attributes in themselves.  Psychology calls it “projection” .

It may be the person I can’t abide simply reminds me of me.  Perhaps in praying for him, a passing angel will polish away my flaws, a two for one in the realm of  abundant grace.
