Semantics of Weakness – Obama Word War

Former Vice President Dick Cheney’s comments on President Obama’s response to terrorist attempt to kill Americans in flight:

“As I’ve watched the events of the last few days it is clear once again that President Obama is trying to pretend we are not at war. He seems to think if he has a low-key response to an attempt to blow up an airliner and kill hundreds of people, we won’t be at war. He seems to think if he gives terrorists the rights of Americans, lets them lawyer up and reads them their Miranda rights, we won’t be at war. He seems to think if we bring the mastermind of Sept. 11 to New York, give him a lawyer and trial in civilian court, we won’t be at war. “He seems to think if he closes Guantanamo and releases the hard-core Al Qaeda-trained terrorists still there, we won’t be at war. He seems to think if he gets rid of the words, ‘war on terror,’ we won’t be at war. But we are at war and when President Obama pretends we aren’t, it makes us less safe. Why doesn’t he want to admit we’re at war? It doesn’t fit with the view of the world he brought with him to the Oval Office. It doesn’t fit with what seems to be the goal of his presidency — social transformation — the restructuring of American society. President Obama’s first object and his highest responsibility must be to defend us against an enemy that knows we are at war.” Read more.

Bush Never Leaves the White House

George W. Bush is an abiding presence in the White House’s day-to-day.  Obama runs though the hall shouting, “Where’s my whipping boy?” When Obama becomes President for real, maybe he won’t need Bush anymore.  Here’s Charles Krauthammer’s astute observations:

This compulsion to attack his predecessor is as stale as it is unseemly. Obama was elected a year ago. He became commander-in-chief two months later. He then solemnly announced his own “comprehensive new strategy” for Afghanistan seven months ago. And it was not an off-the-cuff decision. “My administration has heard from our military commanders, as well as our diplomats,” the president assured us. “We’ve consulted with the Afghan and Pakistani governments, with our partners and our NATO allies, and with other donors and international organizations” and “with members of Congress. “…..

For Krauthammer’s succinct analysis of the choices facing Obama go here.

Reagan vs. Obama’s Attacks on American Freedoms

American freedom’s are under attack and the enemy is within.  From efforts to transform our nation into a welfare state to President Obama’s continuing tactics to constrain freedom of speech, the attack is unrelenting.  American’s have never needed to be more vigilant and pro-active.  Michelle Malkin warns that even our language is used to wage war against us.   Words and phrases, high-sounding camouflaged rhetoric, manipulate us, while masking the word crafters’ dark intent.  Michelle Malkin in Obama’s FCC, liberal churches, and the “media justice” mob points to the phrase “transformative change” meaning:  “Transformative change” = a media landscape purged of the Right’s most powerful voices.”

Here is a voice we can’t ignore for America does have a “Rendezvous with Destiny”.

Say “No” to the Welfare State

Our Lady of Fatima for Today

On May 13, 1917, the Blessed Vrgin Mary, who we now honor as Our Lady of Fatima, our Lady of the Rosary, appeared for the first time to the three seers, Francisco, Jacinta & Lucia at the Cova Da Iria, Fatima, Portugal. She asked that the Rosary be said to obtain peace for the world and to end the war.

The world still needs the peace that Our Lady promises in answer to this powerful prayer. If war was the punishment for unrepented sin in 1917, what do we risk today by abortion ,euthanasia, and unchaste lives? Mercy is still God’s choice if we would but choose Him and begin to live a lifestyle of holiness. He is still sending His own Mother to help us and form us for her Son.

Spies Penetrate Electrical Grid

Spies penetrate electrical grid via Joejolly’s Web Log

The spies came from China, Russia and other countries, and were believed to be on a mission to navigate the U.S. electrical system and its controls, the newspaper said, citing current and former U.S. national security officials.

The intruders have not sought to damage the power grid or other key infrastructure but officials said they could try during a crisis or war, the paper said in a report on its website.

“The Chinese have attempted to map our infrastructure, such as the electrical grid,” a senior intelligence official told the Journal. “So have the Russians.”…
