Awake O Dreamer, Blasphemer

Man in his pride knows best.
So says the arrogant spirit
Because God made you
In His image,
You crack the door
Of your sciences,
For less than a peek,
And marvel at your prowess.
In awe, you assume
The accomplishment your own.

No thanks for eyes, ears,,
The touch, the smell,
The faculties of intellect
And will.

Mine, all it mine you say,
And set out in sinful disregard.
No honor to the Name,
Simple blasphemy your frame.

Wake up, O Dreamer
You revel in your ignorance,
While angels wait
To open your swollen,
Lustful eyes,
To your shame
And repentance.

O, Man,
Humbly gaze on Truth,
And purity’s delight.
Say but the word
That your soul may be healed.

Vigilance

Vigilance

O, Trinity, mine,

As I am Thine,

Indwelling with sacred flame,

Dispatch as for battle

Angels and Archangels,

Sword in hand.

Penetrate my darkness,

Infiltrate clandestine deceptions

Masquerading as light.

Pull down cruel strongholds,

Erected by Minion’s guile,

Surreptitious and in disguise.

Where blindness

Has made me vulnerable,

Where folly

Has let down my guard,

Where allurement

Has entrapped me,

Give power, sword and wing,

To Your Michael.

Bid him ride the dawn

To stand arrayed for the frey,

Here by my side.

Bright Angel of Truth,

Mount ye,

Who Is Like God,

Ever upward,

Empowered by my prayer,

Whispered in th Name,

All Hallowed.

Hashem, do You battle,

Vanquish the hidden

Enemies of my soul,

By my union,

In Your Death.

By my Baptism,

Let Your Blood

Cry out as Your Able,

From the ground

Of my being.

Give Life ever new.

In Your rest,

Empty Tomb,

Witness in me,

By Eucharistic grace,

The triumph of Your Resurrection.

Where the Angels? – “Greed” Revisited

It’s so good to see Phil Donahue stumped for a retort.

Milton Friedman (1912-2006) in his book “Capitalism and Freedom” advocated minimizing the role of government in a free market as a means of creating political and social freedom. ΛΕΟΝΙΔΑΣ of Eternity Road and Fighting In The Shade says Friedman is a pearl worth sharing. ΛΕΟΝΙΔΑΣ revels in this video clip because:

“It is so devastatingly effective in demolishing one of the most sacred shibboleths of modern leftism that it needs to be resurrected and digested in these times of the ascendancy of the Marxist messiah.”

Who could he mean?

Don’t Forget the Angels

Don’t forget about the angels.  They are the guardians of nations as will as persons.  When we pray, and we are humble, we become the “anawin” in Hebrew terms, they are “the little ones” of God, relying on God for all. We are told, “Their angels in heaven always look upon the Face of My heavenly Father.” Matthew 18: 10

Pope Benedict XVI had this to say here.

“We find these figures throughout the Old Testament who help and guide men in the name of God. Just consider the Book of Tobit, in which the figure of the angel Raphael appears to assist the protagonist through many vicissitudes. The reassuring presence of the angel of the Lord accompanies the people of Israel through every event, good and bad.”On the threshold of the New Testament, Gabriel is sent to announce to Zachariah and Mary the joyous happenings that are the beginnings of our salvation; and an angel, whose name is not mentioned, warns Joseph, directing him in that moment of uncertainty.

“A chorus of angels reports the glad tidings of Jesus’ birth to the shepherds, as the glad tidings of his resurrection will also be announced by angels to the women. At the end of time the angels will accompany Jesus in his glorious return.”

“We would take away a significant part of the Gospel if we left aside these beings sent by God to announce his presence among us and be a sign of that presence.” “Let us,” he said, “call upon them often, that they sustain us in the task of following Jesus to the point of identifying ourselves with him.”
