Heresy and Human Nature

Writing here about a heretical concept and human nature in The President, Shock and Awe and Tertullian” Roger Kimball states:

“Many people, I believe, have been stunned by the President’s behavior in his first weeks in office. It’s been a shock and awe performance. Historians of this period will look back in wonder: how ever did a new President waltz into office and, before he had even finished unpacking, extract $800,000,000,000 from taxpayers for partisan spending programs? …. But those historians will note with interest how, even at the beginning of March, some reputable commentators still referred to the President’s poverty program as ‘stimulus package’.”

Tertullian said, that the blessed in heaven would derive pleasure from witnessing the torments of the damned. While heretical, Old Tertullian does have a grasp of human nature, so too, does Obama, who is making hay while the Swells sweat and the Have-nots hoot.  “…it will cause pain among the affluent. It will also cause delight among the more than 43 percent of tax filers who pay no income tax.”

Unfortunately, we’ll all get a glimpse of Hell as this “stimulus package” unfolds.  When it’s actually read , we may find we’re funding Hamas and the Taliban.

World Turned Upside Down

Down,down,down, goes the economy!

Just in time to play into Obama’s power grab.   Says the Anchoress: “The president seems wholly untroubled by any of this and is happily continuing on toward the creation of “one world” with a global “new deal” on his mind. The swiftness with which he is accruing and consolidating power is breathtaking, and most people don’t even realize he’s doing it.”

Amen, Sister!

What is the puppet-master doing?  According to Saj-nicole A. Joni writing for Forbes.com:

“Great leaders know that significant opportunity lies in a world turned upside down.”

“It can be summed up in the phrase “Never waste a crisis.” When Rahm Emanuel, President-elect Barack Obama’s chief of staff, was quoted saying this in The New York Times, he articulated what is on the minds of many of the global business leaders…”

“Great” is not what I would call Obama.  “Audacious” fits!  And it’s not HOPE he’s selling this time.  He’s selling America down the river for a socialist dream; a Utopian dream that has never worked in this world.  Whether Obama is puppet-master or Pied-Piper, I can only ask, what has Congress been drinking?  Kool-Aid?!

Life & Conscience – Not debatable!

Where pray tell is Obama’s conscience?   The Anchoress writes: Obama: Your conscience means nothing to me… after seeing the story she knew was coming:

“Taking another step into the abortion debate, the Obama administration today will move to rescind a controversial rule that allows health-care workers to deny abortion counseling or other family planning services if doing so would violate their moral belie, according to administration officials.

It makes me want to cry, while at the same time making me fighting mad,  that life and conscience take yet another hit.  The hit-man, Obama, means for that to keep happening, day after day, week after week, eating away at our morality.  We will be losing bits and pieces of our humanity.   Soon, we won’t recognize this country. A lot of Americans are re-thinking Obama, but where to from here? Obama will keep the pressure on.  Here’s one man pushing back:

Navigating Slippery Slope or Raping America

Charles Krauthammer has Obama navigating a slippery slope into socialism. Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress, says Krauthammer, “…constitutes the boldest social democratic manifesto ever issued by a U.S. President”.

To my mind, it is a social program that should be called the Rape of America.  Obama’s taking Miss Liberty in a direction she doesn’t want to go.  When Ronald Reagan came to office wanting to take America on a different trajectory,  Krauthammer says Reagan’s aim was to “shrink government, lower taxes, rebuild American defense.”  How long will it be before we will see that again in this nation?

Obama’s will is to force universal health care, universal education and  green energy via government funds, government regulation, by government Democrat’s and Presidential manifesto down our collective throat.   How?  Krauthammer explains, “We know what opportunity he wants to seize. Just as the Depression created the political and psychological conditions for Franklin Roosevelt’s transformation of America from laissez-faireism to the beginnings of the welfare state, the current crisis gives Obama the political space to move the still (relatively) modest American welfare state toward European-style social democracy.”

Is there the will or the way among Conservatives, Independents, Libertarians and still breathing Republicans to stop the plunder and pillage.  Michael Steele, the new chairman of the Republican National Committee and thinking Americans have their work cut out for them.  They need to find traction, indeed, rescue and deliverance, from Obama’s slide into Socialism.

Ouch! Krauthammer Lowers the Boom

Charles Krauthammer pulls no punches.

President Obama bobs and weaves all over the ring, but  punches keep coming. Putin’s in rare form.  If only Krauthammer were in the ring with Putin.  But no,  it’s  Putin and Obama.

The Russian is landing his punches left and right straight to the mid-section.  Obama is taking it on the ropes. Weak response as Putin slams:

Putin puts the gloves to Kyrgyzstan and shuts down a US air base.

Putin forms a “rapid reaction force” to keep the muscle on muslim areas north of Afghanistan.

Putin flaunts plans to establish a naval base in recently conquered Abkhazia.

Putin, Putin, Putin!

Obama is dazed..  He doesn’t seem to know he’s in the ring.  He’s smiling, waving. Campaigning!?

I can’t watch!
