World Turned Upside Down

Down,down,down, goes the economy!

Just in time to play into Obama’s power grab.   Says the Anchoress: “The president seems wholly untroubled by any of this and is happily continuing on toward the creation of “one world” with a global “new deal” on his mind. The swiftness with which he is accruing and consolidating power is breathtaking, and most people don’t even realize he’s doing it.”

Amen, Sister!

What is the puppet-master doing?  According to Saj-nicole A. Joni writing for Forbes.com:

“Great leaders know that significant opportunity lies in a world turned upside down.”

“It can be summed up in the phrase “Never waste a crisis.” When Rahm Emanuel, President-elect Barack Obama’s chief of staff, was quoted saying this in The New York Times, he articulated what is on the minds of many of the global business leaders…”

“Great” is not what I would call Obama.  “Audacious” fits!  And it’s not HOPE he’s selling this time.  He’s selling America down the river for a socialist dream; a Utopian dream that has never worked in this world.  Whether Obama is puppet-master or Pied-Piper, I can only ask, what has Congress been drinking?  Kool-Aid?!

Navigating Slippery Slope or Raping America

Charles Krauthammer has Obama navigating a slippery slope into socialism. Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress, says Krauthammer, “…constitutes the boldest social democratic manifesto ever issued by a U.S. President”.

To my mind, it is a social program that should be called the Rape of America.  Obama’s taking Miss Liberty in a direction she doesn’t want to go.  When Ronald Reagan came to office wanting to take America on a different trajectory,  Krauthammer says Reagan’s aim was to “shrink government, lower taxes, rebuild American defense.”  How long will it be before we will see that again in this nation?

Obama’s will is to force universal health care, universal education and  green energy via government funds, government regulation, by government Democrat’s and Presidential manifesto down our collective throat.   How?  Krauthammer explains, “We know what opportunity he wants to seize. Just as the Depression created the political and psychological conditions for Franklin Roosevelt’s transformation of America from laissez-faireism to the beginnings of the welfare state, the current crisis gives Obama the political space to move the still (relatively) modest American welfare state toward European-style social democracy.”

Is there the will or the way among Conservatives, Independents, Libertarians and still breathing Republicans to stop the plunder and pillage.  Michael Steele, the new chairman of the Republican National Committee and thinking Americans have their work cut out for them.  They need to find traction, indeed, rescue and deliverance, from Obama’s slide into Socialism.

“Moral Corrosions”

The Anchoress writes:    “America is scared, like I’ve never seen America scared before. After 9/11, we were frightened but together as a nation. Now, we’re frightened, and torn apart, as well.”

Thomas Sowell says it like so:  A Fatal Trajectory

“..looming ahead of us– and our children and their children– are dangers that can utterly destroy American society. Worse yet, there are moral corrosions within ourselves that weaken our ability to face the challenges ahead.

One of the many symptoms of this decay from within is that we are preoccupied with the pay of corporate executives while the leading terrorist-sponsoring nation on earth is moving steadily toward creating nuclear bombs.”

Does anyone imagine that we will care what anyone’s paycheck is when we see an American city in radioactive ruins?

Yet the only serious obstacle to that happening is that the Israelis may disregard the lofty blather coming out of the White House and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities before the Iranian fanatics can destroy Israel.”

When clear thinkers worry, I worry!

Reality Check

unemployment-history-1928-20095

NOTA BENE: The unemployment rate after the 1929 Market Crash did not turn down significantly until the United States entered World War II.

The much acclaimed New Deal of FDR is presently being heralded as having saved the economy, and bringing down the high unemployment rates of the Depression.  As you can see, That presumption is unfounded in the fact and numbers of actual history.

Beware the hype!   The New Administration saying that such New Deal spending will bring down unemployment rates in our present economy will not make it so.

We hear that our unemployment figures are “the worst since the Depression.”  Look at the real picture over time to get a perspective based on the actual numbers.   Notice, we are nowhere near the unemployment rate of the depression years, and notably below the high of the eighties.  The problems of our economy are being compounded by irresponsible media and Presidential spin.

I’m Mad As Hell And I’m Not Going to Take It Anymore!

Thanks to the Anchoress!  Read here.

Rick Santelli’s right-on diatribe should have Americans opening their windows and yelling:

“I’m Mad As Hell And I’m Not Going to Take It Anymore!”

Rick Santelli:

“How about this, President – New Administration: Why don’t you put up a website to ask people to vote on the internet as a referendum to find out if we really want to subsidize the losers’ mortgages, or would we would we at least buy cars and buy houses in foreclosure and give them to people who might actually prosper down the road and reward people that could carry the water rather than just drink the water.”

In response to cheers and applause,  Santelli declares: “This is America!  … President Obama are you listening?!”

Rick Santelli then adds:  What we are doing in this country,  right now,  is making the Founding Fathers roll over in their graves.

Happy Valentine’s Day Everybody!

Are you ready for today?  Scads of you probably aren’t, and will be scurrying around for those quick and easy Valentine bouquets at the supermarket.  As a woman, I can tell you, they work just fine.  This year buying them will also give the economy some much needed love $$$$.

Remembering last year, still conjures up a smile and warm fuzzies.  It wasn’t a valentine that came my way, but a sight that cheered many.  A young man in a tuxedo sang love songs, his music blasting into the  parking lot, as he sold Valentine bouquets out of a van.  Mostly men helped him do a bang-up business.  The women hung around or were smiling as they passed.  Ah, the human spirit.  Ah, the entrepreneurial spirit.  Hope I spot him again today.  Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone!
