Navigating Slippery Slope or Raping America

Charles Krauthammer has Obama navigating a slippery slope into socialism. Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress, says Krauthammer, “…constitutes the boldest social democratic manifesto ever issued by a U.S. President”.

To my mind, it is a social program that should be called the Rape of America.  Obama’s taking Miss Liberty in a direction she doesn’t want to go.  When Ronald Reagan came to office wanting to take America on a different trajectory,  Krauthammer says Reagan’s aim was to “shrink government, lower taxes, rebuild American defense.”  How long will it be before we will see that again in this nation?

Obama’s will is to force universal health care, universal education and  green energy via government funds, government regulation, by government Democrat’s and Presidential manifesto down our collective throat.   How?  Krauthammer explains, “We know what opportunity he wants to seize. Just as the Depression created the political and psychological conditions for Franklin Roosevelt’s transformation of America from laissez-faireism to the beginnings of the welfare state, the current crisis gives Obama the political space to move the still (relatively) modest American welfare state toward European-style social democracy.”

Is there the will or the way among Conservatives, Independents, Libertarians and still breathing Republicans to stop the plunder and pillage.  Michael Steele, the new chairman of the Republican National Committee and thinking Americans have their work cut out for them.  They need to find traction, indeed, rescue and deliverance, from Obama’s slide into Socialism.

Update to “Im Mad As Hell And I’m not going to Take it Anymore!”

White House stirs the pot and Rick Santelli goes from simmer to steaming!

Hot Air answers Huffington Post’s question: “Why would Gibbs single out Santelli for a reply when conservative pundits have spent weeks dumping on the stimulus?”…   “Maybe it’s because of the huge play Drudge gave the story yesterday ?”

Ouch! Krauthammer Lowers the Boom

Charles Krauthammer pulls no punches.

President Obama bobs and weaves all over the ring, but  punches keep coming. Putin’s in rare form.  If only Krauthammer were in the ring with Putin.  But no,  it’s  Putin and Obama.

The Russian is landing his punches left and right straight to the mid-section.  Obama is taking it on the ropes. Weak response as Putin slams:

Putin puts the gloves to Kyrgyzstan and shuts down a US air base.

Putin forms a “rapid reaction force” to keep the muscle on muslim areas north of Afghanistan.

Putin flaunts plans to establish a naval base in recently conquered Abkhazia.

Putin, Putin, Putin!

Obama is dazed..  He doesn’t seem to know he’s in the ring.  He’s smiling, waving. Campaigning!?

I can’t watch!

Krauthammer calls it “Supine Diplomacy.”

CNN’s Textbook Refusal

CatholicVote.org had plans to air their pro-life video on CNN .  The video that was refused airing during the Super Bowl has met a similar fate at the hands of CNN execs. Briane Burke writes that CNN has refused the pro-life video that they’d planned to air after President Obama’s first State of the Union Address.   “Their (CNN’s) excuse”, an executive of a prominent commercial ad agency, said “is a textbook answer for a network that does not want to run your ad.”

Burke states, ““CNN and others simply don’t like the obvious conclusion of our ad – there was no ‘choice’ for abortion back in 1961. Thankfully, we had laws then safeguarding unborn children – laws that protected the life of a future president who tragically is unwilling to fight for those same protections today.”

Hope springs eternal! Life’s that important.  “All is not lost.”  Burke says, “CNN’s refusal will only create more attention for our ad, which has been widely discussed even among abortion groups like NARAL and nationally-syndicated columnist Ellen Goodman. The ad remains a viral hit on the Internet with over 1.6 million views on YouTube.”

Krauthammer’s Hammer

Excerpts from the pen and wisdom of Charles Krauthammer writting for the Washington Post with my emphasis:

The Fierce Urgency of Pork

“A failure to act, and act now, will turn crisis into a catastrophe.”
— President Obama, Feb. 4.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Catastrophe, mind you. So much for the president who in his inaugural address two weeks earlier declared “we have chosen hope over fear.” Until, that is, you need fear to pass a bill.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

And yet more damaging to Obama’s image than all the hypocrisies in the appointment process is his signature bill: the stimulus package. He inexplicably delegated the writing to Nancy Pelosi and the barons of the House. The product, which inevitably carries Obama’s name, was not just bad, not just flawed, but a legislative abomination.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

It’s the essential fraud of rushing through a bill in which the normal rules (committee hearings, finding revenue to pay for the programs) are suspended on the grounds that a national emergency requires an immediate job-creating stimulus — and then throwing into it hundreds of billions that have nothing to do with stimulus, that Congress’s own budget office says won’t be spent until 2011 and beyond, and that are little more than the back-scratching, special-interest, lobby-driven parochialism that Obama came to Washington to abolish. He said.

Foundational Basics

Today is about more than hearts and flowers.  Everybody knows it’s crunch time for the U.S.A.  When things get really bad,  the American people have a way of getting back to basics.  The basics start with the foundational underpinnings of our Nation.  Ronald Reagan got it right!  Others, it seems, don’t like the founding fundamentals   They hope for changes that will create an America no one will recognize as America.    Texas Rainmaker and the Anchoress spell it out.

Reagan and Obama in their own words.
